Shit was all fucked up.

The façade Londen had been able to maintain since the miscarriage was crumbling day by day.

As long as he had Lei close, Londen was able to stay afloat. When she began to busy herself with work, he started to drown. Ten days had passed since he’d last seen her, and their conversations over the phone were far and few in between. They were supposed to see each other three nights ago, but he was in the streets with Noah releasing his anger and had open knuckles and a bloody shirt because of it. He wouldn’t dare allow Lei to see him in that state because she’d ask too many questions, and Londen couldn’t pull himself to admit the fact that beating niggas and pulling the trigger was the only release of pain he’d been able to sustain.

Because the truth was… he was filled with a lot of it—pain—and hurt, and rage.

Not just because of the miscarriage, but because of Lei’s broken heart, and the fact that he had a nine-year-old son that he’d never spoken a word to.

Pain… he was filled with a lot of it.

Did the sight of him break her heart?

Did she blame him for getting her pregnant and experiencing this loss?

Did it have nothing to do with him and everything to do with her preferred choice of distraction?

Londen had so many questions and no Lei to give him answers. Hell, even when they talked, she didn’t want to talk about her feelings or their son. Out of his desire to protect her heart, Londen agreed, but not talking and having her presence robbed him of his strength just to increase hers.

Jax set a plate in front of him as he sat in the booth across from him.

“I’m not hung—”

“You need to eat, man. Please.”

Londen didn’t want to eat the greasy burger and fries because it would sober him up even more, but he hadn’t eaten in three days and knew his body would start to shut down eventually. He hadn’t realized how much of a rampage he and Noah had been on until he actually sat down at the bar. Everyone attached to Yandi and Tussi were targets. They were shaken down for info on where they could possibly be hidden, and their homes were searched too. Enemies of old were tortured and killed for the hell of it, though the excuse
